Earth needs space
Earth is finite. To protect our gem of a planet and enable a future of abundance and growth, Earth Needs Space.
Space gives Earth room to grow, new resources, more frontiers to explore, and a way forward that unites us all. We just need future generations to help visualize this future.
Club for the Future is posing this important question to students around the world, and asking them to draw or write their idea for why they think Earth needs space on a postcard. The Club will fly the postcards to space and back on upcoming flights of Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, and return each postcard to its sender with a ‘Flown to Space’ stamp.
The Club asked Blue Origin employees why they think Earth needs space – here are their answers:
The intention behind Earth Needs Space is to give students, parents, and educators a meaningful way to engage in STEM activities while at home during the pandemic and beyond, access to Club for the Future and Blue Origin’s direct expertise, and open numerous pathways for discussions about the benefits of space for Earth—from leveraging in-space resources and a new frontier for humanity to grow, to exploration, scientific discovery, and hope for the future.
The Club has already flown thousands of postcards to space and back for students on New Shepard.
For more information and instructions on how to send your own postcard, please visit the postcards page.
Post your idea to social media using the hashtag #EarthNeedsSpace, and the Club may feature it on our website!
